Why not a Word or Excel template?

Because you have to do all of this again next week.

A downloaded template

  • Re-edited from scratch for every customer
  • Numbering you have to keep track of yourself
  • Adds up wrong the first time you change a row
  • No record of who has paid and who hasn't
  • Customer has to post a cheque or find your bank details

This one

  • Customer details saved, so the next one takes a minute
  • Numbers itself, in order, every time
  • Adds up on its own including sales tax
  • A list of who owes you and how late they are
  • Pay button — card or bank, straight to your account

What belongs on a lawn care invoice

Dozens of small invoices a week, all of them too small to feel worth chasing.

  • Your details and theirs

Business name, phone, and the job address — the address matters more than the billing address on a trade invoice.

  • A number and two dates

An invoice number, the date you issued it, and the date it is due. 'Due on receipt' gets paid slower than a real date.

  • One line per item

For lawn care that usually means mow, edge and blow, fertiliser application, weed control.

  • The tax, shown separately

Customers query a total that includes tax silently. They rarely query one that shows it.

  • A way to pay you

The single biggest thing that changes how fast you get paid.

Questions

What should go on a lawn care invoice?
Your business name and contact details, the customer's name and the job address, an invoice number and date, a payment due date, one line per item of work with its price, the subtotal, any sales tax, and the total due. Lawn care invoices usually itemise mow, edge and blow and fertiliser application separately, because that is what the customer is checking.
Do I have to download anything?
No. This template is filled in on the screen and produces a finished PDF you can email or text. A downloaded Word or Excel template has to be re-edited every time, does not number itself, and cannot take a card payment.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Unlimited invoices, no monthly fee, and no card to create an account. We only make money when a customer pays one through the payment link — 5% of that payment — and nothing at all if you take the money yourself.
Can the customer pay the invoice directly?
Yes. Every invoice carries a Pay button. Your customer taps it and pays by card or bank transfer, and the money settles into your own account.
How soon should a lawn care invoice be sent?
The same day, ideally before you leave. Invoices sent on the day of the work are paid noticeably faster than ones sent at the end of the week, because the job is still fresh and the customer has not yet filed it under 'later'.
